Born in Suwon, South Korea in 2002, he is currently based in Berlin, where he studies with professor Nils Mönkemeyer at the Hochschule für Musik Hanns Eisler.
Previously, he trained at the Reina Sofía School of Music, working first under professor Nobuko Imai as a her last student; following her retirement,
he pursued his studies under professor Lawrence Power.
His earlier training took place at the Korea National University of Arts, where a full scholarship allowed him to complete his Bachelor’s Degree through early graduation; he studied under professor Hanna Lee.
During his training, he continuously perfected his musical skill by participating in concerts, festivals and masterclasses — including the Verbier Festival Academy’s Soloists Programme and the Seiji Ozawa International Academy in Switzerland — given by great musicians, not only from his own instrument, such as Gábor Takács-Nagy, Günter Pichler, Kirill Gerstein, Kazuki Yamada, Konstantia Gourzi and among others. He has performed alongside renowned musicians such as the Schuman Quartet, Nobuko Imai, Frans Helmerson and Mihaela Martin.
He made his debut with the Suwon Philharmonic Orchestra. He received a four-year scholarship from Korea Tobacco and Ginseng during his stay at the Korea National Institute for the Gifted in the Arts.
He received an award by Korea’s Ministry of Culture and Sports as a recognition for his talent and commitment by winning Seong-Jeong Music Competiton. In 2025, he received a 4th prize at the 1st Tenerife International Viola Competition in Tenerife, Spain.
As a chamber musician, he is a member of the Seoul–New York-based Sejong Soloists, as well as the AST Quartet, a string quartet currently studying at the Escuela Superior de Música Reina Sofía in Madrid and holding a scholarship from Villa Musica Rheinland-Pfalz.
