Miho Kaneko

Miho Kaneko

Born in Saitama (Japan) in 1995. In 2018 she was admitted to the Reina Sofía School of Music where she pursues her studies at the IF International Foundation Trumpet Chair, led by professors Reinhold Friedrich and Manuel Blanco. She has been granted a tuition scholarship by Fundación Albéniz. Her Majesty Queen Sofía handed her the Diploma to the most outstanding student of her chair during the 2018-2019 academic year.
She obtained her university degree from the National University of Fine Arts and Music of Tokyo, specialised in Wind and Percussion.
She has been awarded first prize at the XVI Wind and Percussion Young Competition and at the I Wind and Percussion Japan Schools Competition. She took part in the XIX Hamamatsu Wind Instruments Festival and in the XIII Seiji Ozawa Academy of Music Opera Project.
As a student of the School, she has been a member of the Freixenet Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Péter Eötvös, and of the Sinfonietta, under the baton of Jorge Rotter. She is currently a member of the Trumpet Quartet.
