Born in São Miguel, Azores Islands (Portugal), in 1996. Since 2021, he has been a student at the Reina Sofía School of Music, in the Banco Santander Foundation Piano Chair, under Professor Milana Chernyavska. He holds scholarships from Santander Portugal and the Albéniz Foundation. In 2025, he received from Her Majesty Queen Sofía the Diploma for the most outstanding student in his chair.
He began his studies at the age of 5 with his mother, Cristina Pliousnina. He graduated from the Royal Conservatory of Brussels, where he studied with Daniel Blumenthal, and he also pursued studies at the Queen Elisabeth Music Chapel with Maria João Pires. He has attended masterclasses with professors such as Dmitri Bashkirov, Leonid Margarius, Sergei Edelman, Philippe Entremont, Markus Groh, Michel Béroff, Stanislav Ioudenitch, Rena Shereshevskaya, Elisabeth Leonskaja, Nikolai Demidenko, Ralf Gothóni, Florent Boffard, and Eldar Nebolsin. He also had the opportunity to play for Queen Mathilde of Belgium during one of her visits to the Brussels Conservatory.
Since his first award at an international competition at the age of 8, he has won numerous prizes in various prestigious competitions such as the Maria Canals International Piano Competition in Barcelona, the Aarhus International Piano Competition, the Lugano Piano Competition, and the André Charlier Piano Competition in Belgium. Of particular note is the first prize he won, in the professional category, at the 2025 Carles and Sofía International Piano Competition.
He has also performed with the Porto Symphony Orchestra, the Gulbenkian Orchestra, the Aarhus Symphony Orchestra, and the Valdés Symphony Orchestra, under the baton of renowned conductors such as Mikhail Jurowski, Michael Schonwandt, Philippe Entremont, Andris Poga, and Jordi Francés.
As a student of the School, he has performed in the Series La Generación Ascendente (Auditorio Nacional). He has also been a member of the KPMG Schubert Quintet and the Management Solutions and Mahou San Miguel Foundation Tchaikovsky trios. He is currently a member of the Turina Quartet.
