In the Sarabande, András Schiff makes recommendations regarding emphasizing the bass line more, like a cello, and playing cantabile (again, likening it to the music of Bach’s Passions). He also recommends playing more semplice and makes some corrections regarding articulation to achieve a more appropriate character.
Furthermore, Schiff suggests reserving ornaments for the repetition; the first time, it is better to let the listener hear the “simple” version.
