Course
2021-22

MOZART, Wolfgang Amadeus

Symphony No. 29 in A major K 201

IV. Allegro con spirito

András Schiff, guest conductor

Freixenet Chamber Orchestra of the Reina Sofía School of Music

After playing the entire movement, the maestro reviews some passages with the orchestra. He gives instructions on phrasing and duration of the notes at certain moments to the violins so that it sounds more “grazioso” and not so mechanical, with more kindness. Meanwhile, the cellos should play shorter. Afterwards, second violins play the main melody.
András Schiff continues with more indications regarding articulation. Later, in the recapitulation, they should not rush.
