Le nozze di Figaro (The Marriage of Figaro) K 492

“Porgi amor”

Andrés Orozco-Estrada, guest conductor

Annya Andrea Pinto Figueroa, the Countess

Freixenet Symphony Orchestra of the Reina Sofía School of Music

For this cavatina, maestro Andrés Orozco-Estrada comments that the tempo should resemble a pulse in two, a little more lively and with more direction, with longer phrases, both in the soprano and in the orchestra.
The beginning is too tenuto, they have to be three long notes but more separated, articulated. We have to play with two versions of the tempo. For clarinets and bassoons, Orozco advises articulating more to really start together and maintain the first note, the figuration can sound a little more free.
