The students play the complete first movement, and then Bruno Canino begins the class by reviewing the articulation on the piano. To make the dissonances sound clearer, he recommends playing a little more legato, and also, in the more percussive part, lengthening the notes a little.
He also makes indications regarding the dynamics, certain grace notes, or the agogics. Afterwards, he makes several comments about the sonic balance between instruments.
Professor Canino works with the group on the articulation of various points, such as a certain moment that should sound like the meshing of a mechanical clock. Finally, he makes some indication regarding the bows and the adjustment of the accentuation for the violin. In general, when playing with piano and not harpsichord, the dynamics should be a little lower.
