In this class, the student dances the Minuet while playing the viola so that he feels the pulse better: he has to feel the strong pulse and place it. Some indications are given regarding the direction and distribution of the bow while he is playing. Professor Poppen also points out that it is important not to play everything at the same point of the bow. In addition, there should be no ritardando, but only a placement of the strong pulse, and the viola should not be moved. The bass of the chord has to sound more, but without delaying the time.
Finally, Diemut Poppen corrects the position of the bow and the way of holding it so that it is more adequate.
