MOZART, Wolfgang Amadeus
Concerto for violin and orchestra No. 4 in D major K 218 (reduction for violin and piano)
I. Allegro
Gérard Poulet, guest professor
Lucas Bienzobas Sánchez, student
Duncan Gifford, accompanying pianist
In this masterclass, Professor Poulet suggests some different fingerings to the student to improve intonation in a certain passage. Afterwards, they focus primarily on working on articulation and phrasing.
Gérard Poulet shows him certain recommendations by playing so that the student can improve his performance. Poulet continues to make indications regarding the care of intonation, finger position, expressiveness, breathing, and entries integrated with the piano. Finally, they work a little on the cadence: it should be like improvising but with a good tempo and balance, reviewing the fingering in a certain passage that is difficult for the student.
