MOZART, Wolfgang Amadeus
Concerto for oboe and orchestra in C major K 314 (reduction for oboe and piano)
II. Andante ma non troppo
Ingo Goritzki, guest professor
Francisco Almazán Alhambra, student
Vadim Gladkov, accompanying pianist
At the beginning of the Andante, Professor Goritzki corrects the intonation and dynamics (it should begin piano to perform the appropriate phrasing). In addition, to attack the F sharp with the same previous dynamics, the professor suggests practicing this attack without the tongue so that the dynamics do not vary when adding it. Nor should the vibrato be changed when changing notes. Later on, the trill should be played piano and without attacking it with the tongue.
The professor comments that in these early works by Mozart the influence of the Baroque is very close and, therefore, a certain fragment should be interpreted as a variation. He continues with indications regarding articulation and dynamics (the repetition more piano), execution of the trills (it should not start with the upper note because the melodic line goes up), vibrato and appoggiaturas, among other stylistic issues.
