BACH, Johann Sebastian

Suite for Solo Cello No. 1 in G Major, BWV 1007 (Transcription for Bassoon)

IV. Sarabande

Klaus Thunemann, professor

Alber Català Climent, student

Professor Thunemann works in detail on the rhythm of this Sarabande, as well as other aspects such as tuning and agogics.
Klaus Thunemann comments that the accents in the phrases should be in twos and that the arpeggios could be played more calmly. It is very important to pay attention not only to the notes but also to the intention given when playing them.
Regarding articulation, it is sometimes not necessary to separate the notes but to connect them. Finally, Thunemann provides a piece of advice to the student: within a phrase, it is better to go to the tone directly with decision and not by searching for it.
