Klaus Thunemann: Fasch – Sonata for bassoon and continuo (version for two bassoons) – II. Allegro

Course
2010-11

FASCH, Johann Friedrich

Sonata for Bassoon and Basso Continuo in C Major (Version for Two Bassoons)

II. Allegro

Klaus Thunemann, professor

Lucía Molina Pardo, student

Alber Català Climent, student

Professor Thunemann begins by indicating that the tempo is “alla breve”, and demonstrates by playing how the figuration of the bass line should be, typical of the period and more elegant and independent.
In addition, Thunemann corrects a note in the edition that the students are playing from with respect to the original manuscript. Finally, he advises that there should be more contrast between the different characters to make it more varied and interesting, and makes an articulation indication to obtain more clarity in a certain passage.
