Lucas Macías: Dutilleux – Oboe Sonata – I. Aria grave

Course
2025-26

DUTILLEUX, Henri

Sonata for oboe and piano

I. Aria grave

Lucas Macías, Professor

Nedley Antonio Robles Jiménez, student

Alina Artemyeva, accompanying pianist

The student plays the complete Aria from Dutilleux’s Sonata for Oboe. Then, Professor Macías recommends reacting more to the piano part in the recitative, with respect to the agogic. He also recommends playing more articulated in the high register and then not making a diminuendo when descending to the low register.Afterwards, he suggests making a little less ritardando at a certain moment. And also, for the passage of fast notes, he makes recommendations so that it sounds more lyrical and not so virtuosic.
