DUTILLEUX, Henri
Sonata for oboe and piano
II. Scherzo
Lucas Macías, Professor
Nedley Antonio Robles Jiménez, student
Alina Artemyeva, accompanying pianist
After the complete performance of the 2nd movement of Dutilleux’s Sonata for Oboe, Professor Macías points out some rhythmic details that require more accuracy in the reading, and they resume from the beginning of the movement.
At a certain point where there is a large leap in the piano, Lucas Macías recommends that the oboist take a little more time to go together and accentuate that leap more.
Later, he recommends vibrating the notes also at the end of the phrase, not only on the accents. They also review aspects related to the phrasing of certain moments and the agogics. They look in detail at the fingering of the end and the articulation for certain points.
To conclude, he emphasizes marking the sforzati more and the articulation of the fast notes so that everything sounds very clear and vertical.
