MARTINU, Bohuslav
Concerto for oboe and small orchestra H 353 (reduction for oboe and piano)
II. Poco andante
Lucas Macías, professor
Alba Lázaro Villarrubia, student
Alina Artemyeva, accompanying pianist
After playing the beginning of the “Poco andante”, Professor Macías indicates that when he enters after the piano, he should be more in tempo with it, although it remains recitative, they should go together. He gives him some specific indications regarding the dynamics and sound quality. When he returns to the tempo primo, he advises him to think of something calm and nostalgic, which implies more metric freedom. On the other hand, for another moment he recommends less rubato. They also review other issues of tempo and integration with the orchestra/piano.
Macías also reminds him not to forget the vibrato on each note.
