RAVEL, Maurice
Sonatina for piano
II. Mouvement de Menuet
Mikhail Voskresensky, guest professor
Juan Pérez Floristán, student
Prof. Vonskresensky points out at the beginning that it is a Minuet, so the student should feel the pulse in 3 (not in 1) and the character is prestigious and noble.
Voskresensky also comments that Ravel has the quality of making the music sad even though it is in a major key. He also makes corrections on the phrasing and pedal changes: he must ensure that they are linked to the harmony changes and gives the student indications on how to carry it out in the best way.
In a certain part, the sound should be a little louder and the character of the Minuet should always be present, and that this is the slow movement of the work.
