The professor suggests an exercise to the student to avoid playing too softly in the low register, and they practice it. Biron aims for the student to open their jaw more to achieve a sound with more vibration without losing intonation.
Movement while playing is very important; it influences the sound: the student should experiment more with their body while playing, their vocal placement, and their posture.
They try playing a passage, focusing on sound quality at different speeds and changing the articulation.
