Professor Meyer begins by commenting that he did not find the interpretation adequate, considering the date of composition of the work. Everything is correct, but it needs more expression. The intonation also needs to be improved. Returning to the beginning of the piece, he points out that the sound should be fuller and more legato, singing it as if it were a tenor. He emphasizes matters of intonation, phrasing, timbre, and sound quality or dynamics. Meyer also recommends that the student feel more positive in the interpretation of this piece.
Regarding the sound, for the professor it should be as if it came from the mountains, very even and more atmospheric. The professor comments on interpretive styles that do not fit with his idea of quality sound. For him it should not be too open, and he mentions and plays examples of other pieces with a similar sound.
In addition, he advises the student to relax and concentrate on the sound, without moving and without doing anything else, but with internal control of the air and with correct breathing. To achieve all this, the student needs time, but to begin with, he can practice with breathing, trying not to take too much air abruptly and playing longer notes.
