Ramón Ortega: Couperin – Concert royal no. 1 in G major (oboe version) – IV. Gavotte

Course
2024-25

COUPERIN, François

Royal Concerto No. 1 for violin, flute, oboe, viola da gamba and bassoon in G major (version for oboe and basso continuo)

IV. Gavotte. Notes égales et coulées

Ramón Ortega Quero, professor

Manuela Candela Muñoz, oboe

Candela Pérez González, bassoon

Alina Artemyeva, harpsichord

For this movement, Ramón Ortega suggests a slightly faster tempo. And as before, there is a rhythmic figure in which the articulation must be very clear, while in the rest he can play cantabile. He gives performance indications so that it sounds more French, not so German. The professor also points out where the peak of tension lies, and then it is released to move towards the conclusion.
