BEETHOVEN, Ludwig van
Symphony No. 7 in A major, Op. 92
IV. Allegro con brio
Víctor Pablo Pérez, guest conductor
Freixenet Symphony Orchestra of the Reina Sofía School of Music
At the beginning of the movement, Maestro Víctor Pablo makes a dynamic correction in the trumpets. The problem with this movement is the clarity of the rhythmic figuration of the first violins. He gives a very important indication: it can be played with a lot of internal force but not desperately without anything being heard; it must be played with more head and control. In addition, the double basses must also take into account the sound balance: play with internal force, but without sounding “crude” to the outside. Afterwards, the Maestro makes several articulation corrections in the brass and timpani. At the end, he talks about the character, saying that it is important to maintain the strength and impetus in the powerful passages.
