Madrid, January 23, 2020.- The Friends of the Teatro Real Foundation, in collaboration with the Banco Sabadell Foundation, has created a cycle of chamber concerts aimed at the Young Friends of the Teatro Real, which will feature the participation of students from the Reina Sofía School of Music, thus creating a space for musical culture “by young people for young people”.

This project aims to offer young enthusiasts the opportunity to share and enjoy chamber music performed by students of the Reina Sofía School of Music.

The cycle, with free access for the Young Friends of the Teatro Real, will begin on January 29 in the Orchestra Hall of the Teatro Real. It will continue with sessions on February 19, in the Sony Auditorium of the Reina Sofía School of Music, and on March 18 and June 17, in the Gayarre Hall of the Teatro Real.

Taking as a reference the operas programmed in the Teatro Real Season, the cycle will open with Mozart, whose opera The Magic Flute is being performed these days on the Madrid stage. The second concert will feature a romantic repertoire, in reference to Wagner’s The Valkyrie and the third event will offer pieces by Boccherini and Haydn to frame Achilles in Scyros. For the last concert, a program has been designed with works by 20th century composers Arnold Schönberg and Mieczysław Weinberg, the latter being the author of The Passenger, an opera whose premiere will take place next June at the Teatro Real.
