The Santander Music and Academy Encounter brings together great international masters of music with the rising stars of tomorrow. It is the Encounter’s own artistic director, the conductor Péter Csaba, who selects each of the participants through auditions held at the most prestigious schools in Europe.

In Santander, around sixty of these young people work in the mornings with professors in masterclasses and rehearsals, later sharing the stage with them in the afternoons in a series of very special concerts.

The results of the work in the classrooms are then presented in a concert series in which professors and students share the stage. The concert programme takes place in the Argenta and Pereda Halls of the Palacio de Festivales, at the Palacio de la Magdalena, as well as in various venues across around twenty towns in Cantabria.
