The Santander Music and Academy Encounter brings together leading international music masters with the new talents of tomorrow. It is the Encounter’s Artistic Director, conductor Péter Csaba, who selects each participant through auditions held at Europe’s most prestigious schools.

In Santander, around seventy of these young musicians work with the faculty in the morning in masterclasses and rehearsals, and then share the stage with them in the afternoon in a series of very special concerts.

The results of the work in the classroom are then presented in a concert series in which professors and students share the stage. The concert programme takes place in the Argenta and Pereda Halls of the Palacio de Festivales, at the Palacio de La Magdalena, as well as in various venues across around twenty towns in Cantabria.
