The Santander Encounter of Music and Academy brings together the great international masters of music with tomorrow’s rising talents. It is the Encounter’s Artistic Director, the conductor Péter Csaba, who selects each participant through auditions held at Europe’s most prestigious schools.

In Santander, around sixty of these young musicians work in the mornings with the professors in masterclasses and rehearsals, and then share the stage with them in the afternoon in a series of very special concerts.

The results of the work in the classrooms are then presented in a concert series in which professors and students share the stage. The concert programme takes place in the Argenta and Pereda Halls of the Palacio de Festivales, at the Palacio de la Magdalena, as well as in various venues across around twenty towns in Cantabria.
