Today, emotional well-being has become a social priority. Beyond its artistic dimension, music is proving to have a profound impact on mental health, emotional regulation, and social cohesion.
In this context, the Reina Sofía School of Music and the Princess of Girona Foundation, with Zurich in Spain as a promoter and the collaboration of Amplificarte – Art House Academy and the Daniel & Nina Carasso Foundation, are promoting this event, which will bring together professionals from culture, science, and social innovation to explore how music can act as a powerful tool for well-being and personal transformation.
The session will include a dialogue between experts and a special presentation by Dr. Mei Rui, a pioneer in the study of music from a neuroscience perspective and Director of Music-in-Medicine in the Department of Neurology at the MD Anderson Cancer Center at the University of Texas. During her participation, Dr. Rui will explain how music impacts the brain and the well-being of both listeners and performers, and will illustrate these effects through a live technological demonstration, together with a student from the School, which will allow real-time visualization and understanding of how music influences different neuroemotional processes.
