The Freixenet Symphony Orchestra of the Reina Sofía School of Music will perform at the Teatro Monumental, under the direction of Lucas Macías, in a concert featuring works by Mozart and Beethoven to conclude the 25/26 season.
The program opens with the celebrated Overture to The Marriage of Figaro by Wolfgang A. Mozart (an opera premiered in Vienna in 1786, at the height of the Classical period), followed by the Clarinet Concerto in A Major, K.622, in a version for viola and orchestra, also by Mozart (music of apparent simplicity, yet profound emotional depth and formal perfection). The performance will feature soloist Adriana Snape, a student of the Fundación BBVA Viola Chair, who in 2025 received the Diploma for the most outstanding student in her class from Her Majesty Queen Sofía.
The second half will be entirely dedicated to Ludwig van Beethoven’s Symphony No. 7 in A Major, Op. 92. Composed between 1811 and 1812, it is famous for its rhythmic power and energy—described by Richard Wagner as “the apotheosis of the dance” and considered one of the pinnacles of the symphonic repertoire.
A concert that combines elegance, emotion, and dramatic power in a musical journey reflecting the evolution of European music between the late 18th and early 19th centuries, performed by the young musicians of the Freixenet Orchestra of the Reina Sofía School.
