Fundación Jesús Serra, New Patron of the Reina Sofía School of Music

Madrid, January 16, 2023.- Federico Halpern, president of Fundación Jesús Serra, and Paloma O´Shea, founding president of the Reina Sofía School of Music, have this morning signed a collaboration agreement between both entities, for the provision of an annual grant to finance the training of a young musician of great talent at said training center.

Fundación Jesús Serra, of Grupo Catalana Occidente, seeks with this agreement to promote its patronage in the social, cultural and educational fields and, with it, reinforces the social mission of the Reina Sofía School, which is committed to equity and provides all its young musicians with free tuition. For the 2022-2023 academic year, the grant has been awarded to the Catalan pianist Alex Arroyo Luis (Vilanova i la Geltrú, 2006), who has passed the entrance exams to the School at only 16 years of age.

The beneficiary of the grant, within the framework of his academic and artistic training at the School, will have the opportunity to participate in numerous concerts and in the Masterclass program taught each year by professors of international prestige, invited by the School.

Fundación Jesús Serra, under its premise of work linked to civic commitment, contemplates this agreement as an opportunity in the promotion of musical education and the knowledge of young musicians in society, giving support to the development of artistic activities throughout the Spanish geography.
