Founded at the Escuela Superior de Música Reina Sofía in 1995, the Prosegur Albéniz Quartet has been guided by Professors Rainer Schmidt, Alastair Tait and Heime Müller, under whose tutelage it is currently studying. The Quartet has received from Her Majesty Queen Sofía the Diploma for the most outstanding string ensemble in its category in several academic years.
Since its founding, the quartet has performed at such emblematic venues as the Casa de la Moneda, Fundación Carlos de Amberes, the Prado Museum, the Madrid Convention and Congress Centre, the Royal Site of La Granja de San Ildefonso, the National Museum of Roman Art in Mérida, the Ecuador International Festival of Sacred Music, the Palacio del Marqués de Salamanca (Spring series), the Assembly Hall of the Madrid Medical Association (21st-Century Soloists series), the Sony Auditorium, the Royal Alcázar of Seville (commemorative concert for the 200th anniversary of the 1812 Constitution), the ABC Museum of Drawing and Illustration, the National Auditorium of Music in Madrid (Rising Generation series), the Teatro Real in Madrid (Young Talents series, Banco Sabadell Foundation), the Cathedral of Ciudad Rodrigo, the Juan March Foundation in Madrid, the Cueva de los Verdes Auditorium in Lanzarote, and, as part of the Chamber Music in Spain’s World Heritage Cities series, in Salamanca, Santiago de Compostela and Baeza.
