The Albéniz Foundation is a non-profit private institution created in 1987 by Paloma O’Shea, whose main program is the Reina Sofía School of Music, which opened its doors in 1991. In addition to the School, the Foundation has promoted the Paloma O’Shea Santander International Piano Competition since 1972, and the Santander Music and Academy Encounter since 2001. The Reina Sofía School of Music is the main program of the Albéniz Foundation, a non-profit cultural foundation. It was founded in 1991 as a social project to help young people and musical culture. Since then, the School has worked to advance two objectives: to support the most talented young people in their personal and artistic development and to bring the best music to all audiences. Each year, around 150 students from more than 30 countries train at the School.

Position: Artistic Production Technician

Workplace: Fundación Albéniz, located at Calle Requena, 1 28013 Madrid

The nature of this position will involve on-site/office work and the artistic activities of the Escuela Superior de Música Reina Sofía.

Contract Type: Full-time permanent contract, 40 hours per week distributed from Monday to Sunday (will include weekend work)

Salary: between 23,000 – 25,000 euros. Remuneration may be adjusted according to the candidate’s profile.

Annual leave:

  1. 23 working days of vacation to be taken in the month of August
  2. 3 personal days to be used throughout the year.
  3. 3 Christmas days to be used during the holiday period.
  4. December 24 and 31

Reporting to: Head of Artistic Production

Details about the position

We are looking for an Artistic Production Technician who is passionate about music and has great organizational skills to support the planning, coordination, and execution of musical events, including chamber music concerts, orchestral productions, and special projects. This position is key to ensuring the successful development of artistic projects, working closely with the team, artists, teachers, and suppliers.

Job Requirements

  1. Event production: Planning, coordination, and execution of concerts, series, and special projects.
  2. Operational coordination: Managing relationships with artists, suppliers, venues, and collaborating institutions.
  3. Logistics management: Organizing travel, accommodation, and hospitality for artists, teachers, and participants.
  4. Planning and documentation: Preparation of schedules, itineraries, stage plots, and production documentation.
  5. Technical-artistic support: Preparation of musical materials, orchestral rosters, and rehearsal coordination.
  6. Monitoring and follow-up: Support in managing budgets, timelines, and compliance with planning.
  7. Live execution: Operational assistance during rehearsals, concerts, and tours (stage management and on-site coordination).

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the proper delivery of events and artistic activities.
  • Ensure effective coordination among all stakeholders involved (internal and external).
  • Ensure compliance with deadlines and the established plan.
  • Contribute to the artistic and organisational quality of projects.
  • Resolve operational issues promptly and effectively.
  • Maintain smooth communication with the team and collaborators.

Main functions

Requirements:

  • 1-3 years of experience in artistic production, cultural events, or similar.
  • Solid musical knowledge; a higher degree in performance or specialized musical disciplines will be valued.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft 365 tools.
  • High level of Spanish and English, both spoken and written.
  • Excellent organizational skills, ability to work in a team, and adaptation to high-demand environments.
  • Ability to resolve unforeseen issues effectively.
  • Passion for music and the cultural sector.
  • Availability to work flexible hours according to department needs, including weekends and holidays.

       

      Desirable:

      • Experience in the production of concerts, tours, or educational programs.
      • Artistic sensitivity and creativity in assisting with musical proposals.
