The Albéniz Foundation is a leading cultural institution in Europe. It manages one of Europe’s most important educational and musical initiatives: the Reina Sofía School of Music. The institution is currently experiencing significant growth, with the expansion project into a new building provided by the Ministry of Culture, the internationalisation of our activity and funding sources, and the development of new programmes that increase the impact of our work and diversify funding sources, ensuring the Foundation’s long-term sustainability.

Development Department:

The Albéniz Foundation has a unique public-private funding model in Spain, with more than 100 patrons and sponsors, including the most relevant companies in sectors such as finance, technology, and energy, nationally and internationally. Sponsors’ contributions amount to more than €4.8 million per year. In addition, the Foundation is committed to innovation and digitalisation and is a pioneer in leading European projects.

The Development Department has a team comprising several Sponsorship and Strategic Development Managers, Project Managers, and a Patronage and Grants Officer.

Details about the position

The Albéniz Foundation is seeking a Junior Sponsorship and Strategic Development Consultant to work, together with the Sponsorship and Development Managers, on attracting and retaining sponsoring companies and developing new business lines to diversify the institution’s funding sources.

The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years’ experience in business development and/or marketing, fundraising, or related areas, with very strong communication and commercial skills. Advanced proficiency in the Office suite is essential, especially PowerPoint and/or similar applications. With an entrepreneurial and autonomous mindset, they will help identify new innovation and development opportunities, as well as contribute to collaboration proposals and retention actions. Knowledge of the cultural, educational, or third sector is preferred.

The Junior Sponsorship and Strategic Development Consultant will report directly to the Head of Sponsorship and Development. This department represents approximately €5 million in annual income for the Foundation and more than 100 partner companies.

Job Requirements

Under the guidance of the Head of Sponsorship and Development, the Junior Sponsorship and Strategic Development Consultant will support the management of:

  • Partnerships with sponsoring companies: retention and activation of the relationship with a portfolio of companies that support the Foundation’s project (renewal of collaboration agreements, organisation of concerts and events for their clients and employees, co-creation of innovative projects aligned with companies’ strategic priorities in CSR, HR, Marketing, and Communication).
  • Commercial strategy for MusicalThinkers, a company in which the Albéniz Foundation holds a stake: commercial strategy, marketing, and project delivery to develop MusicalThinkers, which focuses on developing people, teams, and organisations in the corporate environment through the strategic application of music as a tool for transformation; providing services (programmes and workshops) to companies in leadership and cultural transformation.
  • Event sales: optimising the School’s spaces for the organisation of private concerts and corporate events.

 

To carry out their duties, the Junior Sponsorship and Project Development Consultant will contribute to the following actions:

  • Prepare commercial materials to support day-to-day sponsorship activity and the growth of funding and projects.
  • Assist in follow-up and engagement with patrons and potential partners, providing up-to-date information on funded projects and preparing reporting materials.
  • Participate in drafting collaboration proposals and preparing the commercial documentation needed for meetings, visits, or marketing and retention actions.
  • Help keep patronage records and databases up to date, ensuring traceability of actions and results – use of Salesforce (CRM).
  • Contribute to the preparation of internal monitoring and results reports for the Development Management and other involved areas.

Conditions:

  • Workplace: Fundación Albéniz headquarters, Calle Requena 1, 28013. Possibility of remote work up to 2 days per week.
  • Type of contract: Full-time / permanent contract
  • Start date: April.
  • Remuneration: depending on profile

 

Main functions

  • Degree: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Law, Marketing, International Relations, or related fields.
  • Experience: At least 2 years in similar roles (consulting, business development and project management in companies, human resources, marketing, etc.).
  • Languages: Very high level of English (C1 or above) and spoken and written Spanish.
  • Skills:
    • Strong proficiency in professional use of Office (PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams).
    • AI tools applied to design, information synthesis, writing, and process efficiency.
    • High level of motivation and initiative, creativity, and teamwork.
    • Organisation, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple projects and/or tasks simultaneously.
    • Communication skills.
  • Tools: Very high level of proficiency in PowerPoint and Excel. Experience with Salesforce (or another CRM) will be valued.
