The Albéniz Foundation is a non-profit private institution created in 1987 by Paloma O’Shea, whose main program is the Reina Sofía School of Music, which opened its doors in 1991. In addition to the School, the Foundation has promoted the Paloma O’Shea Santander International Piano Competition since 1972, and the Santander Music and Academy Encounter since 2001. The Reina Sofía School of Music is the main program of the Albéniz Foundation, a non-profit cultural foundation. It was founded in 1991 as a social project to help young people and musical culture. Since then, the School has worked to advance two objectives: to support the most talented young people in their personal and artistic development and to bring the best music to all audiences. Each year, around 150 students from more than 30 countries train at the School.

Details about the position

The Albéniz Foundation is looking for a Patronage and Fundraising Technician to strengthen the Development area of the Reina Sofía School of Music and contribute to raising resources that support the institution’s artistic, educational and social activities.

 

The person in charge will be the central figure in the identification, preparation and comprehensive management of public and private funding sources, guaranteeing the technical excellence of each proposal and the correct justification of the funded projects. Likewise, they will support the area in actions related to corporate patronage, collaborating closely with the management and the team to strengthen relations with donors and collaborators.

 

The position requires a great capacity for writing, analysis and planning, as well as a very high command of English and a competent and rigorous use of digital tools, including artificial intelligence, as support for performance and professional efficiency.

 

Work center: Albéniz Foundation, located at Calle Requena, 1 28013 Madrid.

Type of Contract: Permanent, full-time, 40 hours per week, distributed from Monday to Friday.

Salary: Remuneration according to experience and professional profile.

Start Date: mid-January 2026.

Job Requirements

  • University degree in Cultural Management, Law, Business Administration, International Relations or related areas.
  • Minimum experience of 2 years in the management of calls, grants, funded projects, fundraising or related areas, preferably in cultural, educational or third sector institutions.
  • High level of English (C1 or higher). Knowledge of other languages ​​will be valued.
  • Demonstrable experience in the preparation of reports, budgets and justifications.
  • Knowledge of the regulatory framework for calls, grants and the management of projects financed by public administrations or private entities.
  • Interest in culture, classical music and education.

Main functions

Under the coordination of the Head of Sponsorship and Development, the Sponsorship and Fundraising Technician will assume the following responsibilities:

 

Management of calls for proposals and institutional funding

  • Identify and evaluate calls for proposals, grants and other funding avenues that align with the institution’s mission and projects, from both public bodies and private foundations.
  • Draft and coordinate the preparation of complete applications, integrating technical reports, work plans, budgets and administrative documentation.
  • Monitor and control funded projects, ensuring compliance with deadlines, commitments and regulatory requirements.
  • Prepare execution reports and economic and technical justifications, guaranteeing their quality and consistency with the project objectives.
  • Maintain fluid communication with funding bodies and with the internal teams involved in each project.

 

Support for sponsorship and institutional relations

  • Collaborate in the monitoring and attention to sponsors and potential collaborators, providing updated information on funded projects and preparing reporting materials.
  • Participate in the development of collaboration proposals and in the preparation of necessary documentation for meetings, visits or loyalty actions.
  • Contribute to keeping sponsorship records and databases up to date, ensuring the traceability of actions and results.

 

Internal coordination and project management

  • Coordinate the collection of information with the academic, artistic, operations and communication departments for the preparation of applications or justifications.
  • Support budget planning and financial monitoring of projects linked to external funding.
  • Prepare internal monitoring and results reports for the Development Directorate and the rest of the areas involved.

 

PROFESSIONAL COMPETENCIES

  • Excellent writing skills in Spanish and English.
  • Solid competence in professional use of AI tools, applied to the organization, synthesis of information, writing and efficiency in processes.
  • Analytical capacity and rigor in the interpretation of regulations and regulatory bases.
  • Organization, attention to detail and ability to handle several projects simultaneously.
  • Strategic sense, results orientation and ability to work with demanding deadlines.
  • Communication and coordination skills with multiple teams and profiles.
  • Mastery of Excel and project management tools; experience with CRM will be valued.
