Born in Madrid, he began his musical studies at an early age, obtaining a degree as a music and piano teacher. He is the director and founder of several choirs, with which he mainly worked on the Renaissance and Baroque repertoire. At the same time, he completed specialized courses in early music in the disciplines of Baroque organ, harpsichord, and choral conducting.

From its reopening in 1997 until 2004, he worked at the Teatro Real in Madrid.
His first staging was the production of Poulenc’s opera “La voix humaine” at the Are More Music Festival in Vigo in 2003.

From 2004 to 2010, he worked at the Staatstheater Darmstadt, where he conducted, among others, the operas “La Serva Padrona“, “Don Carlos” and “Maria Stuarda”, as well as the world premieres of “La Cuzzoni” (Teatro Albéniz, Auditorio de Barcelona) and “Lord Byron” (Liceu de Barcelona). In Spain, he has conducted titles such as “I Puritani“ (La Coruña Opera Festival and ABAO in Bilbao), “La Ardilla Astuta“ (Mozart Festival and Teatro Arriaga), “The Magic Flute“ (Teatro de El Escorial and Kursaal), “Lucia di Lammermoor“ (Teatro Gayarre Pamplona and La Coruña Opera Festival), “Cavalleria Rusticana” and “Pagliacci” (Titulcia Opera Festival) and “Otello” (Teatro Principal de Palma de Mallorca, chosen as the best production of the season).

He recently conducted “L’elisir d´amore” at the Staatstheater Braunschweig, “Andrea Chenier” at the Perelada Festival, “La Boheme” with the Danish National Opera and “Carmen” at the Thüringer Schlossfestspiele Sondershausen. His upcoming stagings include titles such as “Don Pasquale” (Pamplona), “Carmen” (Cancún), “Nozze di Fígaro” (Koblenz) and “Luisa Fernanda” (Nordhausen). He won third prize in the European Competition of Stage Directing “EOP Camerata Nuova” (Wiesbaden 2005) with his project of G. Rossini’s “La Cenerentola”. He was a finalist in the Prague International Opera Directing Competition (2007) with his project of Händel’s “Alcina”.

He is a professor of body technique and stage at the Reina Sofia College of Music in Madrid.
