The Spanish horn player Anaís Romero has extensive experience in the musical field and has had the good fortune to be a direct student of the horn players Radovan Vlatković, Stefan Dohr and Radek Baborak, who are the leading figures in the world of the horn today.
With the support of her teachers Manuel Castelló and Juan Antonio Domenech, she began her musical training at the C.A.C. Virgen de la Paz de Agost (Alicante) at the age of 7.
After completing her professional music studies at the Guitarrista José Tomás Professional Conservatory of Music with Professor Luis Tur and her higher studies at the Óscar Esplá Higher Conservatory of Music in Alicante with Professor José Antonio Antolín Polo, Anaís accessed master’s studies in interpretation at the Hochschule für Musik Theater und Medien in Hanover with Professor Markus Maskuniitty and advanced musical studies at the Reina Sofía School of Music in Madrid, where she had the privilege of learning from the international soloist Radovan Vlatković and Rodolfo Epelde.
In 2015, she won a place as an academician in the prestigious Karajan Akademie of the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra, where she collaborated regularly for two years and received classes from the virtuoso horn player Stefan Dohr. Later, in 2019, in recognition of her academic excellence, Queen Sofía personally awarded her the prize for the most outstanding student of her class at the Reina Sofía School of Music in Madrid. In addition, she has also been awarded a scholarship on two occasions by the JONDE Fundación BBVA institution to complete her musical studies abroad.She has collaborated regularly with top-level orchestras, including the Berlin Philharmonic, the Munich Philharmonic, the Mahler Chamber Orchestra, the Deutsche Oper Berlin, the Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio France, the Bergen Philharmonic, among others. Thus, she has had the opportunity to work with the most prominent conductors on the current musical scene, such as Simon Rattle, Semión Bychkov, Andris Nelsons, Ivan Fischer, Krzysztof Urbański, Christian Thielemann, Daniel Harding, Lorenzo Viotti, etc. In addition, she has participated in renowned festivals such as the Baden-Baden Easter Festival, the Festival Paax GNP, the Salzburg Easter Festival, the Enescu Festival, the Merano Music Festival, the Quincena Musical de San Sebastián, La Rioja Festival or the Santander International Festival, among others.In addition to her career as an orchestra musician, Anaís is a teacher committed to the musical development of the next generation. She has taught courses and master classes throughout Spain and abroad and has been a professor of horn and orchestral repertoire at the Higher Conservatory of Music of Aragon.
Currently, Anaís continues to develop her musical career by teaching horn classes at the Forum Musikae Higher School of Music and holding the position of solo horn in the Orchestra and Choir Foundation of the Community of Madrid.
From the academic year 2025-2026, she will be an associate professor of the Fundación ”la Caixa” Horn Chair at the Reina Sofía School of Music in Madrid.
