Gabrielle Kaufman is a cellist and researcher based in Barcelona, a graduate of the Conservatori Superior del Liceo and the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire, and holds a doctorate in musicology from Birmingham City University. Gabrielle is an associate professor at the UAB and dedicates herself to chamber music and research, with an emphasis on topics related to performance, reception, and musical perception. She has participated in the competitive research projects Living Musical Heritage (Royal Academy of Music, Stockholm) and Music and the City (UAB, Barcelona). She currently collaborates regularly with outreach entities such as the Joan Manen Association, ACiMIC, and Musicològics, and regularly offers lecture-concerts in Spain and Sweden. Her publications include articles and reviews in Quodlibet, Revista de Musicología (SEDEM), and the Butlletí de RACBA. She is the author of the monograph Gaspar Cassadó: Cellist, Composer and Transcriber (Routledge, 2017, finalist for the ARSC 2018 awards) and co-author of books on Spanish music and early recordings, published by publishers such as Peter Lang (Germany) and Routledge (United Kingdom).
