Jesús Gómez Madrigal has been awarded the 1st Prize in the “Marisa Montiel” Piano Competition of Jaén, 1st Prize in the Musiquísimos Competition organized by RTVE, making several recordings for this house, and the 1st Prize in the “Paper de Música” International Chamber Music Competition.
He develops an intense solo and chamber activity, with recent recordings such as the one corresponding to volume No. 36 of the Collection: The Hispanic Musical Heritage, SEDEM, together with the cellist Ángel García Jermann, also appearing in concert with Sol Gabetta, Gerard Caussé, Radovan Vlatkovic or Mark Lubotsky. He has performed in the main national musical centers, as well as in France, Germany, Italy, Belgium, USA, Switzerland and Israel.
He has appeared as a soloist under the baton of conductors such as Manuel Galduf, Sara Watkins, Antoni Ros Marbá, Enrique García Asensio, Manuel Hernández or Juan Luis Martínez.
Jesús G. Madrigal was born in Enguera-Valencia and trained with Perfecto García Chornet and later with Luca Chiantore and Fausto Zadra. He obtained his GPD at Peabody Conservatory with Julian Martin and Leon Fleisher, and a Master’s Degree in Musical Interpretation and Research from the VIU. He completed his studies at the “Reina Sofia” Higher School with Dimitri Bashkirov and Marta Gulyas, with a scholarship from the Albéniz Foundation, whose President was Alicia de Larrocha.
He is currently a professor at the Royal Conservatory of Madrid.
