Born in Bad Oeynhausen (Germany) in 1971, she began playing the violin at the age of four. She studied at the music schools of Detmold, with Tibor Varga; Reina Sofía in Madrid, with Zakhar Bron; and in Lübeck. In 1998 she won the silver medal at the Tchaikovsky Competition in Moscow. Since 2000, she has been an exclusive artist of the Oehms Classics label, for which she has recorded four albums with works by Bloch, Prokofiev, Shostakovich and Tchaikovsky. In addition to her performances around the world, she has been a professor at the Musikhochschule in Freiburg and since 2009 at the University of the Arts in Berlin, among other institutions. She also gives master classes in Germany, Italy, France, Croatia, Portugal, Slovenia, Austria, Spain and Israel. She plays a violin made by Antonio Stradivari in 1709.
