Lisette Oropesa is one of the most sought-after lyric coloraturas today, regularly performing leading roles in the world’s most important opera houses. These include the METROPOLITAN OPERA, TEATRO ALLA SCALA, WIENER STAATSOPER, BAYERISCHE STAATSOPER, OPÉRA NATIONAL DE PARIS, ROYAL OPERA HOUSE – COVENT GARDEN, and others.
Her most recent performances of La Traviata have been at the Metropolitan Opera, the Teatro Real, the Royal Opera House, the Gran Teatre del Liceu, the Teatro dell’Opera di Roma, and the Arena di Verona. Lisette has also triumphed as LUCIA in Lucia di Lammermoor, KONSTANZE in Die Entführung aus dem Serail, MANON in Massenet’s work, RODELINDA, and QUEEN MARGUERITE in Les Huguenots.
Known for her liquid legato and seamless technique, her impeccable linguistic skills, her stylistic integrity, her precise coloratura, and her superlative acting, Lisette excels in the repertoire of bel canto, Mozart, and French composers.
In the 2021-22 season, Lisette appeared at the Royal Opera House – Covent Garden as Gilda in a new production of RIGOLETTO to open their season, and returned for several performances of LA TRAVIATA in the autumn. She then embarked on a European concert tour of Handel’s oratorio THEODORA, performing in Vienna, Milan, Paris, Luxembourg, and Essen. She made a triumphant debut as Giulietta in a new production of Bellini’s I CAPULETI E I MONTECCHI at the Teatro alla Scala. From there, she led two productions at the Wiener Staatsoper: Konstanze in DIE ENTFÜHRUNG AUS DEM SERAIL and the title role in LUCIA DI LAMMERMOOR, and reprised her acclaimed performance of Lucia at the Opernhaus Zürich, in her house debut. Afterwards, she returned to Munich and the Arena di Verona to perform LA TRAVIATA.
In the 2022 season, she debuts at the Salzburger Festspiele singing LUCIA DI LAMMERMOOR in a concert performance, and makes her highly anticipated debut as Elvira in I PURITANI at the Teatro di San Carlo in Naples. She then makes her concert debut in Japan in two bel canto programs. Subsequently, she travels to London to debut in the title role of Handel’s ALCINA, and to the Metropolitan Opera to perform Gilda in RIGOLETTO.
In 2023, she will sing Amalia in I MASNADIERI at the Bayerische Staatsoper and Ophélie in a new production of HAMLET at the Paris Opera. In the spring, she will star in a new production of LUCIA DI LAMMERMOOR, in an anticipated series of performances at the Teatro alla Scala, and will appear at the Teatro Real as Fiorilla in a new production of IL TURCO IN ITALIA.
In the summer of 2023, Lisette will return to Savonlinna, Finland, for her debut as Juliette in Gounod’s masterpiece ROMÉO ET JULIETTE.
Lisette has several critically acclaimed albums, including Ombra compagna, a collection of Mozart’s concert arias for soprano, a complete recording of LA TRAVIATA, and Rossini & Donizetti, French Bel Canto Arias.
