Born in Havana (Cuba) in 1952, since the 2000-2001 academic year, she has been a Professor and Accompanist Pianist of the “Alfredo Kraus” Ramón Areces Foundation Voice Chair at the Reina Sofía School of Music, currently with the titular professor Susan Bullock CBE and with Rocío Martínez and, in previous years, with Tom Krause, Teresa Berganza, Ryland Davies and Francisco Araiza, among others.

She began her musical studies in her hometown. She later moved to Venezuela and obtained the title of Piano Performer Professor at the Juan Manuel Olivares Conservatory of Caracas. At the same time, she studied at the Andrés Bello Catholic University of that city, where she graduated with a degree in Arts.

In Venezuela, she began her activity as a solo and accompanying pianist, in recitals throughout the country as well as abroad as a cultural representative of that country. She has also participated in recitals sponsored by the Organization of American States (OAS) and the Smithsonian Institution of the United States. She also has numerous recordings with representative figures of Latin American vocal art.

Within the pedagogical field, her activities as a Repetiteur and Professor of Repertoire took place in the Caracas Opera Workshop. In 1985 she was hired by the Teresa Carreño Theater as a Preparation Teacher for the Opera seasons, an activity she carried out until 1996.
During that period she also participated in the preparation of the opera seasons of the Ateneo de Caracas, the National Opera Company and the Camerata Barroca de Caracas.

In 1986 she was appointed Professor of Vocal Repertoire at the Simón Bolívar Conservatory and has also taught courses and workshops on interpretation, developing an intense activity for other schools in the country.

In 1994 she traveled to Buenos Aires, hired by the Teatro Avenida as Musical Director. There she worked on the staging of Operas, Operettas, Zarzuelas and Musicals, continuing with her pedagogical work.

She has collaborated in the artistic advice of the Buenos Aires Opera House, an entity dedicated to the promotion of young singers, for which she has participated in the preparation and direction of various shows (operas, zarzuelas, concerts, etc.).

Due to this interest in the formation of new values, she was invited by the Beracasa Foundation to the festival that Radio France organizes and sponsors for that purpose in the city of Montpellier (France). As a complementary activity, she has offered numerous conferences and taught courses for prestigious institutions in Caracas and Buenos Aires.

As a professor at this School, she has participated in various concerts in Madrid at the Lázaro Galdiano and Caja Madrid Foundations, in the Zurbano and Marqués de Salamanca Palaces, Teatro Real, National Music Auditorium, Academy of Fine Arts, El Prado Museum, as well as in various auditoriums in La Coruña, Santander, Tenerife, León, Vitoria, Córdoba, Toledo (within the Heritage Cities of Humanity Cycle) and the Spanish embassies in The Hague (Netherlands) and Washington (USA). Also noteworthy are several recordings on CD and for RNE’s Radio Clásica.
