He holds a degree and a “cum laude” doctorate in Psychology from the University of Valencia. His area of research and pedagogy focuses on the psychological and bodily processes related to musical practice and performance preparation.

In the field of music, in 1986 he was awarded a grant by the Ministry of Culture to further his violin studies in Bern (Switzerland) with D. Zisman. He was a member of the World Orchestra of Musical Youth in the sessions of 1985 (Canada, Japan and Korea) and 1986 (Poland) and of the Latin American Orchestra of Musical Youth in 1985 (Uruguay). He was also a member of the Orchestra Rencontres Musicales de Lausanne (Switzerland) in 1987.

He began his contact with the Alexander Technique in 1987 with Professor W. Tschaikowski in Freiburg, Germany, and later with A. Fortwangler, at the Alexander Technique School in Freiburg, completing his training in 1993. Since then, he has taught Alexander Technique classes in Valencia, as well as numerous courses in music and dance conservatories and dramatic art centers.

Since 2002, he has been a professor at the Superior Conservatory of Music of Aragon, where he teaches the subject of “Alexander Technique and Musical Study”. At the Palau de la Música in Valencia, he has taught Alexander Technique classes for the musicians of the Valencia orchestra (2009-2017).

He has been a thesis tutor of the “Master of Musical Interpretation and Research” at the International University of Valencia (VIU) from 2012 to 2018.

In 2020 and 2022, he received the Academic Excellence Award from the Alfonso X el Sabio University of Madrid, as the best-rated professor in the Faculty of Music.

He has been a professor at the Superior Conservatory of Music of Navarra, teaching the subject of “Psychological Preparation for Performances” (2016-2018). He has also written the texts for one of the modules of the Master’s Degree in Musical Psychology from the UNED (2017-2018).

After the publication of his doctoral thesis in 2010 on the metacognitive processes of musical learning and its relationship with musical performance, he developed an intense teaching activity. He organizes courses and workshops to improve performance in the classroom and in performances, which he has been doing since then in numerous musical centers: the superior conservatories of Madrid, Valencia, Aragon, Castilla-La Mancha, Navarra, Seville, Córdoba, Alicante, Castellón, Vigo and Castilla-León, ESMUC, Musikene, the Faculty of Music of the Alfonso X el Sabio University, and in a large number of professional conservatories in Spain.

He is the author of the books “Optimize your Musical Activity. The Alexander Technique in Music”, “Alexander Technique for Musicians”, “How to Successfully Prepare a Concert or Audition”, “Mental Training for Musicians” and “The Keys to Musical Learning”. He is also the author of numerous articles on the Alexander Technique and the psychology of music. As a professor, he carries out an intense work of dissemination of the aspects that help musicians to improve their performance and achieve more satisfactory performances.

Since 2020, he has been developing an intense work of dissemination of various bodily and psychological issues surrounding musicians on the website www.rendimientomusical.es

Since 2022, he has been a professor of Alexander Technique at the Reina Sofía School of Music in Madrid.
