Thanks to the support of the Ministry of Labor and Social Economy through aid for the Comprehensive Plan to Promote the Social Economy for the generation of an economic, inclusive and sustainable fabric, within the framework of the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan, the Albéniz Foundation implements “Connecting Communities Through Music”, an ambitious technological modernization project aimed at increasing the social reach of classical music and reinforcing its positive impact on the health and well-being of citizens. The initiative is especially aimed at three key groups: young people, the elderly and the population of rural areas.
In a context marked by concern for the mental health of young people, the increase in unwanted loneliness in old age and the isolation associated with rural depopulation, the Albéniz Foundation is committed to technology and culture as transformative tools. “Connecting Communities Through Music” allows to expand access to high-quality musical content, reinforce social cohesion and democratize culture through innovative digital solutions.
Technology to bring music closer to the whole society
The project includes three main lines of action:
- Development of new digital functionalities and improvement of the School Channel of the Reina Sofía School of Music with a fresher, more creative and innovative aesthetic and the inclusion of simple, clear, concise and agile language, enhancing didactic content for young people and the integration of immersive experiences in state-of-the-art virtual reality.
This modernization also includes the integration of live-streamings directly on the website of the Reina Sofía School of Music, with interactive chat, facilitating access for elderly people or people with reduced mobility to professional quality concerts broadcast from the Sony Auditorium of the Reina Sofía School.
- Optimization of internal processes through new management tools, which will allow a more efficient management of the approximately 350 annual concerts organized by the institution, as well as greater organizational sustainability.
- Implementation of advanced personalization and segmentation systems, integrating the ticket sales platform with automated marketing tools to improve the relationship with audiences and offer them content adapted to their interests.
Social impact: well-being, access and territorial cohesion
Through this project, the Albéniz Foundation reinforces its commitment to equal cultural opportunities, emotional well-being and territorial structure. The objectives include:
- Increase emotional and social well-being through classical music.
- Reduce geographical barriers, offering quality programming to inhabitants of rural environments.
- Promote youth participation, with short and dynamic audiovisual formats adapted to their digital consumption habits.
- Enhance interaction and sense of community through participatory digital tools.
Likewise, the initiative contributes to environmental sustainability by digitizing internal processes, reducing paper consumption and optimizing energy management associated with data storage and transmission.
This project is possible thanks to the support of the Ministry of Labor and Social Economy through aid for the Comprehensive Plan to Promote the Social Economy for the generation of an economic, inclusive, and sustainable fabric, within the framework of the Recovery, Transformation, and Resilience Plan.
