Madrid, November 27, 2024.- The Cajasol Foundation and the Reina Sofía School of Music have signed a collaboration agreement that reinforces their commitment to the training and development of talented young musicians and to the dissemination of music as a tool for cultural transformation.
The agreement, signed by Paloma O´Shea, founding president of the School, and Antonio Pulido, president of the Cajasol Foundation, will allow the Foundation to be a patron of the Cajasol Foundation Quintet during the 2024/2025 academic year. This group is made up of Marta Chelet (flute), Alba Lázaro (oboe), Cristian Rupa (clarinet), Candela Pérez (bassoon) and Álvaro Parrón (French horn), young talents who represent the future of chamber music.
In addition, the agreement contemplates the co-production of a cycle of three concerts in Seville, at the headquarters of the Cajasol Foundation, starring students from the School. This cycle will include three outstanding events:
–Wednesday, January 22, 2025: cello and piano recital by the Florence May Duo (Eva Arderíus, cello and Natalia Schamova, piano).
-Friday, March 21, 2025: chamber music trio.
-Wednesday, May 21, 2025: Cajasol Foundation Quintet.
As part of this commitment, Antonio Pulido, president of the Cajasol Foundation, joins the Board of Trustees of the Reina Sofía School, the highest governing body of this center.
Shared commitment to music and inclusion
This agreement reinforces the common values between both institutions, such as the commitment to talent, quality and inclusion, as well as the dissemination of music in society.
For the Reina Sofía School, this agreement is part of its proactive policy of creating alliances with relevant and prestigious organizations and institutions that help it to develop and extend its mission, as Paloma O’Shea has pointed out: “The collaboration with the Cajasol Foundation fits perfectly with the dual mission that the School has had since its birth. On the one hand, contributing to the development of our young musicians through the formation of a wind quintet and, on the other, bringing music closer to society with the cycle of concerts that our students will offer at the headquarters of the Cajasol Foundation in Seville.”
For his part, Antonio Pulido, president of the Cajasol Foundation, has stated that “this collaboration with the Reina Sofía School of Music responds to the firm commitment of the Cajasol Foundation to promote cultural events inside and outside Andalusia, through the professional training of young people in the musical field and making music accessible to society.”
