Madrid, June 19, 2020. Following the situation caused by the Covid-19 health crisis, the performing arts have been forced to halt their activity for several months, and many uncertainties about the future of the sector still remain.
In order to promote a debate on this matter, the Reina Sofía School of Music, in collaboration with other Spanish cultural institutions, wanted to give voice to young artists, to learn about their opinions, concerns, and proposals on how they approach the future as professionals in the sector.
To this end, interviews have been conducted with 17 young people from various performing arts disciplines, in which they reflect on different issues. From how their vision as artists has changed, to the role that the performing arts should play in society, the impact of new technologies, and the changes that will occur in the artistic experience. The result has been compiled in a video that provides a different and novel vision of the future of the performing arts.
