The Reina Sofía School Adapts its In-Person Edition of the Music and Culture Summer Camp with Two Online Programs

For the past four years, the Reina Sofía School of Music has offered its youngest program during the month of July: Summer Camp Music and Culture, designed for young people between 12 and 17 years old. Due to the health situation related to the Covid-19 pandemic, the 2020 edition will not be held in person, but its musical project has been adapted and two alternative programs will be developed online.

The second program will take place from July 13 to 24, Summer Camp Young Artists, and is designed for students of intermediate or advanced levels of professional degrees. Participants will enjoy a great musical experience, with individual classes, group projects and the masterclasses “Building an Artist” that will help them to enter the professional world of music and to question what they can contribute as musicians to society.

Each program lasts two weeks, from Monday to Friday, with four hours of live online classes per day. The class schedule will be assigned by the School according to the instrument, in the time slot from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. (Madrid time, UTC+2), and in its afternoon schedule (from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Madrid time, UTC+2).

All participants will perfect and develop their musical skills, create group projects and learn body language with the best music teachers. In addition, classes will be complemented by permanent access to a platform with online resources and by individual instrument practice time.

To participate in either of the two online programs, you must have an optimal internet connection, computer, languages (classes are taught in Spanish and English interchangeably) and previous musical experience. Candidates must submit their curriculum vitae with their training and experience in their application.

The registration period has been extended and will be open until Thursday, July 2, 2020 through this link.
