Madrid, October 10, 2019.- Next Friday, October 18, the fourth edition of the Entrepreneurship, Leadership and Innovation Program, organized by the Reina Sofía School of Music with the collaboration of the Banco Sabadell Foundation and the Ariane de Rothschild Foundation, will kick off.

The Program, a subject of the Master’s Degree in Musical Performance at the School, is developed with a dual objective: to provide music students with the tools and skills to develop their artistic career, and to bring classical music closer to society, promoting coexistence and understanding among people.

It will begin with a conference open to the public on October 18 at the El Instante space in Madrid, dedicated to the theme “Entrepreneurship and innovation in classical music”. The event will feature the presence of classical music professionals who undertake, lead and innovate from different perspectives of the sector: Julia Sánchez, General Director of the Reina Sofía School of Music; Detta Danford, tutor and professor in the Master in Musical Leadership at Guildhall School of Music & Drama (London); Maider Múgica, deputy director of the National Center for Musical Diffusion -CNDM- and Zapata Tenor, singer with extensive international experience (Metropolitan Opera of New York or Theater an der Wien, among others), as well as in the creation of innovative musical projects.

Students from the Reina Sofía School of Music will also participate in the meeting, who will share the projects they carried out in the Entrepreneurship Program in previous years: a musical-social project for women victims of gender violence in collaboration with the Ayaan Hirsi Ali Association; a music education program in collaboration with the Balia Foundation; workshops for children with autism, and other innovative projects such as those that allowed combining the experience of enjoying a recorded concert and viewing it with virtual reality glasses, among others.

Everything that happens around this conference will be shared on social networks through the hashtag #laclásicainnova.
