Madrid, March 1, 2021.- The Reina Sofía School of Music celebrates the fifth edition of the Summer Camp Music and Culture, with the novelty of being able to choose between two summer programs that take place on the same dates -from July 5 to 18-, but in different cities.
The Summer Camp Young Artists program, in Madrid, is aimed at young people of intermediate and advanced levels with at least two years of experience playing an instrument and previous musical training, aged between 12 and 17 years. Those interested will develop a 100% musical experience in the facilities of the Reina Sofía School of Music, consisting of instrument technique in individual classes, rehearsals, chamber music, masterclasses “Building an Artist” and the subject “Building Teamwork” that will help them to enter the professional world of music and create a common project among several participants.
For its part, Summer Camp Music and Fun, which will take place in Santander, is aimed at children between 8 and 12 years old interested in string instruments or piano. The summer experience will be a cultural and linguistic immersion in the musical world with sports, language and leisure activities balancing the intensity of the instrumental activity. It is open to all levels and is a great choice as a prelude to the “Young Artists” program.
Participants will combine their individual and chamber music classes at the ‘Ataúlfo Argenta’ Conservatory, with recreational and sports activities -swimming, tennis, volleyball, etc.- in the facilities of the Ruth Beitia Municipal Sports Complex, study languages, surf on weekends, attend closed rehearsals of the concerts of the XX Santander Music and Academy Encounter, a music festival throughout Cantabria organized by the School, and more cultural activities, which will make their passage through the program a fun and enriching experience.
All participants will be educated in skills linked to the Reina Sofía School, such as: perseverance, dedication, teamwork, high level of responsibility and promotion of dialogue between cultures through music and art. In both programs, the student will develop their artistic skills with the best teachers, in an international environment with colleagues from all over the world.
At the end of each program, the young participants will perform in front of their own family and friends. A successful musical show as the culmination of two weeks of learning in an unforgettable summer.
The two programs offer full campus options (students stay overnight) or only ‘daytime’. In addition, the Reina Sofía School offers scholarships of 40% on the cost of the programs to families interested in having their children participate in “Young Artists” or discounts for early registration in the case of “Music and Fun”.
