Madrid, January 26, 2021.- The advent of the information society, where the market for concerts and performances has become global, has fundamentally altered the music industry. The success of a professional musician today depends not only on their artistic talent but also on their skills to design projects, incorporate technology into their activity, and manage their career.
Given this situation, and in order to provide new skills and tools to young musicians of any style, the Reina Sofía School of Music leads a European project, in association with Cork Institute of Technology (Ireland), Koninklijk Conservatorium Brussel (Belgium) and Grupo DEX (Spain).
The project New Skills 4 New Artists, NS4NA, addresses the paradigm shift that artists of all musical genres face under the objectives of providing them with the necessary tools and knowledge, as well as showing them the current opportunities and challenges, designing and testing an interdisciplinary training program, and creating and establishing the foundations for a sustainable lifelong learning training program ready to be transferred and integrated into training institutions throughout Europe.
In March, the first edition of New Skills 4 New Artists will begin, which will serve as a pilot for the program, and will consist of 45 hours of instruction, taught online in weekly sessions between March and June 2021 and distributed in three training modules:
1. Entrepreneurship and Business Development.
2. New Technologies for Musicians
3. Digital Marketing, Communication and Social Networks.
45 young people between 18 and 35 years of age and residents in Spain, Belgium or Ireland, will be selected. Registration for musicians residing in Spain is free and open until February 5, 2021.
