Antonio Miguel Méndez Pozo, vice-president of the VIII Centenary Foundation of the Cathedral. Burgos 2021, and Paloma O’Shea, president of the Albéniz Foundation, have signed an agreement between both entities, which aims to establish a framework for collaboration that facilitates the development of musical activities around the celebration of the VIII Centenary of the Cathedral of Burgos.
This signature is a renewal of the agreements signed between these institutions in 2018 and 2020. With this new collaboration agreement, the Albéniz Foundation, through the Reina Sofía School of Music, the Santander Music and Academy Encounter and the Paloma O’Shea Santander International Piano Competition, will offer four concerts in Burgos throughout 2021:

Piano recital by Aleksandr Kliuchko, awarded at the XIX Paloma O’Shea Santander International Piano Competition 2018

The signing of this agreement underlines the commitment of the VIII Centenary Foundation to publicize its magnificent architectural monument on its 800th anniversary. Both institutions also share the fundamental aspects, which are their objectives and values: they work to contribute to the progress of society through culture and have as a standard the pursuit of excellence in all their actions.
