The Reina Sofía School Presents Young Talents at the National Auditorium

Madrid, February 4, 2021.- The XXV edition of the concert series The Ascending Generation of the Reina Sofía School of Music kicks off this February. Throughout the series, the public will be able to enjoy six concerts performed by talented young musicians, who will demonstrate their skills in recitals and chamber and orchestral music concerts.

The series will be inaugurated by the performance of the Goldmund Quartet, a young German quartet, formed with Professor Günter Pichler at the International Institute of Chamber Music of Madrid of the Reina Sofía School, and which already has great recognition in the European chamber music circuit, which has made them worthy of the Jürgen Ponto Foundation scholarship and be chosen by the Nippon Music Foundation to give them the use of the Stradivarius Paganini, four unique instruments that belonged to the famous violinist and that can be heard that day (February 18, 7:30 p.m.). The previous users of the Stradivarius Paganini have been quartets of the highest international prestige: the Hagen Quartet and the Tokyo Quartet.

In March, the students of the School Rolanda Ginkute and Cristina Cordero, will offer a violin and viola recital (March 17, 7:30 p.m.). It will be in April when the wind groups of the Reina Sofía School will offer a concert with works by Donizetti, Gounod, Françaix and Dvořák (April 19, 7:30 p.m.).

The cycle will continue in May with two concerts. On the 6th (7:30 p.m.) with a singing recital by the students Annya Pinto (Awarded in the III Compostela lírica Competition) and Olga Syniakova (Awarded in the 58th edition of the Concurso Tenor Viñas), from the “Alfredo Kraus” Singing Chair Ramón Areces Foundation of the Reina Sofía School of Music, and on the 20th (7:30 p.m.), with two chamber groups, Trío Tiempo BBDO and Grupo Schubert de KPMG.

As the end of the cycle, on June 21 (7:30 p.m.), the Freixenet Symphony Orchestra of the School, under the direction of maestro David Afkham, principal conductor of the National Orchestra of Spain, will offer a concert with works by Brahms and Schumann in the Symphony Hall of the National Auditorium.

All performances will take place at the National Music Auditorium of Madrid.

The Ascending Generation is a cycle organized by the Reina Sofía School of Music in collaboration with the INAEM-Ministry of Culture and Sports and the National Music Auditorium.
