Madrid, January 12, 2023.- The Reina Sofía School of Music organizes the XXVII edition of the cycle ‘The Rising Generation’, in which young musicians of great talent and projection will demonstrate their worth on a stage of maximum demand such as the National Music Auditorium in Madrid.
These concerts are part of the School’s special “30th Anniversary” cycle, which offers all fans a special program that brings together chamber music, recitals and concerts with orchestral formations, and which has the collaboration of Asisa and Mutua Madrileña.
The series will be inaugurated on Wednesday, January 25 at 7:30 p.m., in the Chamber Hall of the National Auditorium, by the Enagás Schumann Trio (Alexis Hatch, violin; Alejandro Gomez Pareja, cello; David Khrikuli, piano) and the Management Solutions Tchaikovsky Trio (Jacobo Christensen, violin; Leonardo Chiodo, cello; German Skripachev, piano). They all receive classes from Márta Gulyás, professor of the Piano Groups department, and will perform works by Schubert and Brahms respectively.
In April, the musicians of the Aline Foriel-Destezet Cello Chair Alejandro Gómez Pareja, (Madrid, 2002), Second Prize in the Pablo Casals International Competition, and Willard Carter, (Wells, 2002), First Prize and OSPA Special Prize in the 23rd Llanes International Cello Competition, will offer a cello recital accompanied on the piano by Ofelia Montalván and Miguel Ángel Ortega Chavaldas (April 19, 7:30 p.m.) with works by Schumann, Janácek, Prokofiev, Poulenc and Castelnuovo-Tedesco.
The cycle will continue on Wednesday, June 14 (7:30 p.m.), with the performance as a guest artist of the Canadian pianist Jaeden Izik-Dzurko, winner of the First Prize in the XX Santander International Piano Competition, with works by Schubert, Medtner, Scriabin, Fábregas and Schumann.
As a culmination, on June 18 (7:30 p.m.), the Freixenet Symphony Orchestra of the School, under the direction of maestro Juanjo Mena, principal conductor of the ‘Cincinnati May Festival’, and the solo viola Noemí Fúnez, will offer a concert with works by Hoffmeister and Mahler in the Symphony Hall of the National Auditorium.
The Ascending Generation is a cycle organized by the Reina Sofía School of Music in collaboration with the INAEM-Ministry of Culture and Sports and the National Music Auditorium.
