Jimena Miranda Claveria

Born in Texcoco, Mexico, in 2003. Since 2023, she studies at the Reina Sofía School of Music’s Fundación Damm Oboe Chair with professor Hänsjorg Schellenberger. She has been granted scholarships by Santander México and Fundación Albéniz.

She entered the National Conservatory of Music at the age of 12 and she was part of the Children Symphony Orchestra of Mexico in 2017 and 2018. Since 2019, she is a member of the Eduardo Mata Youth College Orchestra. Additionally, she has attended masterclasses by Emanuel Abbülh, Alex Klein, Claire Brazeau, Nigel Shore, Christoph Hartmann, Francesco Di Rosa, and Nick Deutsch.

She won the competition organised by the Music School of the National Autonomous University of Mexico within the 7th College Oboe Festival, and, she has recently been received the Sally van den Berg Award to the best oboist, in the youth category of the mentioned festival. Likewise, she has obtained the second place at the 2018 COFCAM Competition in Boca del Río.

As a student of the School, she has performed with the the Freixenet Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Péter Csaba, and with the Fundación EDP Camerata, conducted by Paul Goodwin. She is currently part of the Cosan Quintet.
